MÜLLER MIROSLAV. 2016. Experimental Research on Load Capacity, Treatment of Adhesively Bonded Surface and Failure Process of Structural T-joint. Acta Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 64(2): 473–479. In this paper the mechanical behaviour of structural two-component epoxy adhesives in T-joints is experimentally investigated. The aim of this study is to analyse the impact of the adhesive bonded surface treatment on the maximum force required to cause destruction, i.e. bearing capacity of T-joints bonded with various adhesives. Experimental results showed that the type of the adhesive aff ected the limit values of a force required for the destruction of the adhesive bond. The eff ect of the bonded surface treatment was also confi rmed. From the results of experiment it was proved on fi ve tested two-component epoxy adhesives that the negative eff ect of the peeling forces can be reduced by mechanical treatment of the adhesive bonded surface e.g. blasting. When there is applied an unsuitable mechanical treatment of adhesive bonded surface, the decrease of the force required for the destruction of the bond was up to about 98%.

In this study, analytical models considering different material and geometry for both single and double-lap bolted joints were reviewed for better understand how to select the proper model for a particular application. The survey indicades that the analytic models selected for the adhesively single or double bolted lap joints, as well as T, scarf, and stepped joints, with linear material pr...

In this study, shear and peel stress distributions in the viscoelastic adhesive layer of a single-lap joint (SLJ) with functionally graded (FG) adherends are investigated. The study focuses on the effect of different adherend profiles and material composition on the time-dependent stress concentration/distribution in balanced and unbalanced SLJs. For this purpose, the Reddy model is applied to ...
متن کاملComputational Models of Adhesively Bonded Joints
Simulations using the Finite Element Method (FEM) play an increasingly important role in the design process of joints and fasteners in the aerospace industry. In order to utilize the potential of such adhesive bonding, there is an increasing need for effective and accurate computational methods. The geometry and the nature of an adhesive joint are, however, not so simple to describe effectively...
